I received a bailiffs letter on Thursday I spoken to the bailiffs Thursday night who gave me until Monday to get the money, on Friday I spoken to the head office and sent an income and expenditure to them we have 4 children 1 who is only 4 and the other is on the autistic spectrum, and I don’t work they got back to me today and said I’m not in financial hardship and they will put back to bailiffs I’m trying to set up a payment plan of £50 why are they being so unreasonable baring in mind we only have £330 spare after all our outgoings so paying £50 back a week would leave £130 for other debts etc. Are the company able to do this when I’m trying to make amends?
I’m sorry to hear about the problems you’re having with Bailiffs.
The simple answer is yes, they can demand the full amount to be repaid, however this isn’t always possible.
We always advise people to negotiate with the bailiffs and if they refuse a payment plan then call and make a regular payment to the bailiff company.
