    Christine Best

I have been in my IVA for 6 years now but haven’t received a letter saying i have completed it, when can i expect to received this?

    Hi Christine,

It can take time for your IVA company to tie up loose ends such as making sure no PPI is due, but if you ask they might be able to give you a better idea of when you will receive the letter of completion.

Have you spoken to your insolvency practitioner about the letter?

    Hi DAF,

I called my insolvency practioners yesterday and they told me they are doing checks on whether i am due any PPI.

They told me it should take about a month and i will recieve my completition certificate by post.

Is it right they are able to take any PPI i am due though, since some of it was after i entered the IVA?

It is standard for insolvency practitioners to check if there are any assets or money due to you before you finish the IVA.

I know it can seem unfair but their job is to get as much money back to the creditors as possible so long as it is due while you’re in the IVA.

Thanks for the advice DAF, i don’t think i’m due any PPI anyway but just wasn’t sure if it was all above board.

I’ll let you know when i get my completion certification.
