Wonga took money out of my mums bank account but she never had a payday loan from them, who can i complain to about this?

    Hi Steve,

Is there any reason why Wonga would have your mum’s bank details on record?

The first step in making a complaint would be to go through Wonga’s complaints procedure. Have you gone through Wonga’s complaints process yet?

Yeah she cleared a payday loan i took out but i don’t owe anything now. I have written to them by email which they told me to do but i’ve not had a response.

It may be an error on their system but so far you’ve taken the appropriate steps to getting this matter resolved. If Wonga don’t find in your mum’s favour and return her money you can complain in writing to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) at:

    The Financial Ombudsman Service
    South Quay Plaza
    183 Marsh Wall
    London
    E14 9SR

    Telephone: 0300 1239 123.
    Email: complaintinfo@financial-ombudsman.org.uk

Please let us know the outcome with the complaint and fingers crossed no further action is needed.

    Hi Debt Advice Forum,

Just thought i’d let you know that Wonga have upheld my complaint and refunded it to my mum.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Hi Steve,

That’s great news they have refunded the payment, however i would demand your mums details are removed from their records. This should stop any mistakes in the future.
